Freeboat is in its first chapter (launched February 2026).
At its heart, Freeboat is about learning to sail, learning to cruise, and discovering a whole new way of living. I’m walking that path myself — and I’m inviting others to walk it too.
Anyone who feels drawn to this, whether you’re just curious, ready to crew, or fully committed to earning your own helm one day — is a Voyager.
Some Voyagers will dip a toe in and move on.
Some will crew boats and fall in love with the lifestyle.
Some will pursue Captain with everything they’ve got.
All are Voyagers. All are welcome.
If you believe in the mission, share the values, and contribute positively in some way — you’re part of this.
We’ve created a simple, fun way to acknowledge growth, contribution, and earned responsibility along the way.
These ranks — aren’t about status. They reflect trust gained through showing up, learning, helping, and carrying responsibility well.
This is the path I’m laying out for myself — and others — but myself first.
And for the record: I’m a proud Guppy.
As Freeboat grows, we’ll mark progression with simple ceremonies that celebrate responsibility earned.
This is about culture, belonging, and pride in growth from the very beginning.
If you're even slightly interested, if even a sliver of your soul wonders if you could do this someday, sending this one simple message could change your life. Let me be clear: I'm not selling anything, this is not a business, it's a kinship. Kindred souls brought together. There's no commitment by reaching out, just a connection that this resonates with you. Cheers!
New to Freeboat. Curious. Learning.
Guppies observe, ask questions, and begin discovering what life at sea really requires. Anyone can be a guppy. All you have to do is reach out. Join the mailing list and you're instantly a Guppy!
A committed contributor.
Shellmates have shown up in person and meaningfully supported the mission — whether working on the boat, helping in the yard, cooking, filming, organizing, or contributing their skills in real, tangible ways.
They’ve moved from observer to participant and have become part of the crew.
Trusted with responsibility.
Helmstars understand systems, stand watch, help navigate, and support others onboard. They've completed their first voyage and earned trust through action, not words.
Leads by example.
Wayfinders help guide passages, mentor newer crew, and carry the culture of Freeboat forward. They are steady, capable, and service-minded.
Entrusted with the helm.
A Freeboat Captain is not simply someone who wants a boat — it’s someone who has earned trust, demonstrated seamanship, and proven they can carry the mission forward.
The helm is never claimed. It is entrusted.
We will let you know when big things are happening!
